April 19, 2023I worked for General Motors for 37 years and had the opportunity to work with John Zagata during my 7 years as GM’s Global Vice President of CCA. This operation had over 9K people and made significant financial and customer satisfaction contributions to the company.
During John’s 29 years with General Motors he held many key positions in field operations, supply chain, distribution and business operations. John demonstrated strong leadership skills with attention to detail. He is authentic, dependable and able to get things completed across all levels of the organization. April 28, 2023I had the opportunity to work with John in various capacities while we were both employed at General Motors Customer Care and Aftersales (CCA). We also continued to collaborate when he moved into the Manufacturing Materials organization.
I found John to be a very resourceful, solution-oriented individual. He provided me with analyses to help support strategic decision-making. He also provided critical data for safety field actions to ensure vehicle owners were protected.
After John moved to his role in the Materials organization supporting GM manufacturing plants, we continued collaborating on a large, complex six sigma project related to the flow of excess material to CCA warehouses. John provided valuable insight into the current state as well as opportunities for improvement. His cross-functional knowledge was a key driver of success.

April 16, 2023I have been asked to provide some feedback and thoughts on Mr. John Zagata. I have the privilege to work with John for 6+ years at General Motors Customer Care and Aftersales prior to my retirement from GM. John and I worked on various projects that involved analysis and interpretation of large quantities of data for future managerial decisions on how the business needed to move forward.
The projects were diverse and varied in degree of complexity but no matter what type of project it was John was always willing to help, take the next or extra step and was invaluable in the interpretation of data after analysis and manipulative techniques that GM was using for those projects. At the time we were working together the recommendations presented to management were heard and considered for possible implementation.
Mr. Zagata was always a professional, courteous, outgoing, easy to work with not only with me but any others that were involved in the aforementioned projects. John provided key insights on the massive amounts of data being reviewed and presented key thoughts for the work group to consider as we continued preparing for the management reviews.
Mr. Zagata was always a delight with his openness, kind and outgoing character and wonderful humor that helped relieve some of the tense situations that occur in a work group setting. If another opportunity arose for me to work with Mr. Zagata again I would jump on it because I know the end results will be positive in whatever he is involved in.
